Arizona Trail (Loma Alta)
Warm and windy day in the Tucson area - so off to another section of the Arizona Trail! We started at the Loma Alta Trail head - this is on the southern edge of the Saguaro National Park just north of Vail, Arizona. Heather opted for a hike and I went off on my bike.
Heather was able to hike the Ridge View trail from this section of the Arizona Trail that is open to hikers but not mountain bikers. The Ridge View Trail is within the Saguaro National Park.
Looking out where the trail heads out through the mountain desert.
Very scenic - desert trails are very inviting.
Several horseback riders on the trail - the Arizona Trail is multi-use for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
Just me and the bike and plenty of wide open spaces...
Windmill near a water tank for the horses.
Just on the edge of the Saguaro National Monument.
