Saguaro National Park & Dallas Folks
Travel to Tucson in the winter and we run into some fine folks from Dallas. Keri and Stuart from Dallas were visiting friends in Tucson and Phoenix - Keri reached out to us to see if we wanted to go ride bikes today. We coordinated a place to meet them and their friend Jere (she just moved to Tucson from Dallas in September) along The Loop. Jere led us out to Saguaro East National Park to ride the loop road through the park.
The scenic loop ride through Saguaro National Park East is very popular with cyclists. It offers lots of ups and downs, curves, and one nice climb in a beautiful eight (8) mile loop. (Javelina Rocks above)
Stuart at the end of theclimb.
View from the first overlook on the scenic loop drive.
Lots of arms going on here :)
Another fun looking Saguaro
After we finished the scenic loop we stopped for a late lunch at Saguaro Corners to refuel before we headed back for home. A really nice day to ride with temps in the low 70's. It was really great to see Keri and Stuart again and to meet their friend Jere.
We plan to come back to the park soon to hike some of the trails and look more closely at the Saguaro and birds.
